Welcome to Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1 Dehu Road ---- the institution that nurtures the heart, the mind and the physique of children---- for Enlightenment.

Forty years ago, 20 Regimental schools, located in places with large concentration of defence personnel, were  taken over by the Government of India, as Central Schools.

Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1 Dehu Road, prides itself in having been one of those 20 schools.  From inception to maturity----there has been no looking back.

Located only 5 Km away from the place of birth and enlightenment of Saint Tukaram, our vidyalaya is undoubtedly blessed to lead numerous youth from 'darkness to light'.

Bearing the motto that invokes the sun god, the perpetuator of life, to remove the veil of darkness, our vidyalaya has striven ceaselessly towards endowing many a life with 'light'.

It is a foregone conclusion that the identity of an institution corresponds with the ideology/philosophy of the one who leads it.
