PARAMETERS FOR PROMOTION

1. If a child gets 'E' grade in 3 subjects or more in class III to V he/she can be detained in the same class with the consent of the parent.

2. In case the parent does not give his/her consent, the student will be promoted to the next class.  However, if the student again gets 'E' grade in 3 subjects or more in the next class, the Principal can detain the child in the same class.

3. The earlier provision, that the child who gets 'E' grade in any 2 subjects in class V will be given an opportunity to improve and if he gets 'D' even in one subject will be promoted to class VI, will continue.

4. Promotions in class VI-IX and XI will take place in accordance with the KVS Education Code Article 116A(b) which requires a child to secure 33% marks in continuous and comprehensive evaluation and annual examination separately.

5. In class IX and XI if a candidate secures less than 33% marks in one or two subjects in the session ending examination he will be eligible to take the supplementary examination in those subjects, which will be held in April.
